The Garmin GPSMAP 76CSx is a colour, handheld mapping gps that is ideal for both marine and outdoor use. Designed with the latest, high-sensitivity GPS receiver by SiRF, the 76CSx tracks your position even in tree cover and canyons. The GPSMAP 76CSx includes a 128MB microSD card for storage of map detail. The microSD card slot is located inside the waterproof battery compartment. The 128MB microSD card can be loaded with data from MapSource products like Garmap South African Streetmaps, Garmap Africa Road Atlas version 2 and Garmap South African Topo & Rec maps.
Users can load map data and transfer routes and waypoints through the unit’s fast USB connection. Fast USB connectivity also makes loading charts and maps quick and easy, while navigation instructions can be shared with repeaters, plotters, and autopilots using NMEA protocols through the dedicated serial port. The Garmin GPSMAP 76CSx incorporates a barometric altimeter for extremely accurate elevation and vertical profile data. An electronic compass displays accurate heading while standing still.
