Forerunner 205 & 305

The Forerunner 205 is a one-piece training assistant that will provide athletes with precise speed, distance, and pace data. The Forerunner 305 additionally provides a wireless heart rate monitor, which allows the user to continuously monitor their heart rate. The wireless heart rate monitor (worn as a chest strap) sends heart rate data to the Forerunner 305 so users can see if they are training to hard or not hard enough. The 205 and 305 also features a high-sensitivity GPS receiver that provides exceptional signal reception, even when running under tree canopy or near tall buildings. There’s no calibration required, and the 205 & 305 can be used for multiple sports, like cycling, cross country skiing and more. GARMAP Africa Road Atlas Version 2

This version contains Auto Routing Navigation, greatly improved accuracy and classification on the roads data as well as the latest search and auto routing technology. A myriad of topographical features like contours, forests, rivers, lakes, dams and places of interest were added to enhance to traveling experience. Trip and Waypoint management functions are also included. A total of 7 NEW Counties were added to the Atlas. A list of all countries includes: Botswana, Burundi, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Please note the Autorouting function will only work on Autorouting GPS Units.

GARMAP South African Topographical and Recreation

GARMAP South African Topographical and Recreation

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Garmap South African Topographic and Recreation (SA Topo & Rec) in July 2005, for use with Garmin gps products.

This product is non-autoroutable but has got search capabilities on specified features. The main reason for this product is to provide the Garmap users with an extremely detailed South African map base for recreational planning and orientation in a specific area. Due to the size of the data on the SA Topo & Rec product, it is advised that this product be used in combination with the current SA Streetmaps V3 or Africa Road Atlas e.g. use the SA Streetmaps to get to your specific location and download only the area of interest from the SA Topo & Rec on your GPS.

This CD contains 1:50 000 Topographic and Cadastral Based data of South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho. (Note Cadastral data only for South Africa) The GRID reference system is based on the current 1:50 000 maps. Details of the data contained in the product below:

  • Roads – All the MapIT Roads included in the South Africa V3 combined with the Roads from the Department of Surveys and Mapping (Other access roads like farm roads and forest station roads, streets in small towns, hiking trails and gravel tracks) Note that this is not a routable product and only the road names and road numbers of the Highways, Main Roads and Through- Routes have been included and made searchable. Similar to the 1:50 000 Maps – street names have been omitted.
  • Contours – Complete 20m contours for South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho.
  • Bathymetric Contours and Depth Spots heights - The underwater contours and spot heights along the coast of South Africa.
  • Trigonometry Beacons – All 27 344 Trig Beacons added with names – searchable.
  • Rivers – All the 1:50 000 Perennial and Non-perennial rivers from Department Surveys and Mapping. Names of known rivers included and searchable.
  • Water Areas – All Lakes, Dams and Pans with known names included and searchable.
  • Farms – All Farm and Farm Portion boundaries with Farm names and Portion nr’s included and searchable.
  • Built-up areas – The boundaries and known names of every city, town and settlement in South Africa – searchable.
  • Parks and Reserves – The boundaries and names of all Parks and Reserves in South Africa – searchable.
